  Job Title: Purchasing Agent

  Position Type: Full-Time, Overtime as needed.

  Salary: $25 - $35hr

Position Summary

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the ordering of all goods to support the achievement of business goals as well as compiling and maintaining records of transactions and office activities for the establishment by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Participates in the execution of the current Quality Management System. Including but not limited to maintaining KPI’s, managing vendor approval list, and supplier on time delivery metric.
  • Generate and send purchase orders for approved project materials, supplies, and services to approved vendors from enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, requesting material certification as required.
  • Generate and send purchase orders for office supplies from requisitioning system as needed, ensuring to utilize proper item/cost centers and General Ledger Codes.
  • Reviewing requisitions and bid proposals; negotiating contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority; purchasing supplies.
  • Conferring with vendors to find out status of an order, contacting vendors concerning discrepancies with quantity and quality.
  • Maintains office supply and first aid inventories.
  • Receives all incoming packing slips and compares against purchase order to ensure accuracy, entering Purchase Order Receipt into ERP for verification.
  • Reviews vendor invoices for accuracy before submitting to accounts payable.
  • Establishes itinerary for company truck driver for deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Oversees proper methods of packaging to ship to outside process services.
  • Interfaces with all departments to resolve problems and issues with needed purchased items.
  • Performing other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by supervisor.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret English.
  • College Degree a bonus.
  • Previous Job Experience desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as skillfully gather and analyze information.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting.
